Wattage Wednesday: Toaster Oven or Oven?

August 31, 2017

It’s your turn to host the kid’s movie night with their friends. The kids have requested pizza bagels for dinner. Now that they are prepped and ready to be cooked, you don’t know if they should be cooked in the toaster oven or the regular oven. To help you make a decision, we took a look at how much energy each appliance typically uses.

Let’s look at wattage.

Toaster Oven = 1,200 Watts < Oven = 3,000 Watts

The higher wattage of the oven makes for a strong case in favor of using your toaster oven to cook the pizza bagels. Using the toaster oven will allow you to get back to your seat on the couch sooner because it’ll heat up faster than the oven since it has less space! Which mean the kids will be happy and you can relax a bit.
